Betoro on a handset: keeping the account secure

A phone holds more than a game. It holds the browser session, the email inbox, the payment apps and often the banking identity of its owner. For that reason the security of a Betoro account on mobile depends largely on the device. These are the points we advise every account holder to keep in order:

• Lock the screen with a code or biometric method that no one else shares.
• Keep the operating system and the browser on current versions.
• Log out of the account when play ends, particularly on a shared phone.
• Do not let the browser save the account password on a device others use.

Mobile access on one set of terms

The Betoro site can be used in the phone’s browser, and the account, the balance in DKK and the offers are the same as on a computer. If the phone is lost or stolen

1. Change the Betoro password from another device at once.
2. Change the password of the email account linked to the Betoro account.
3. Contact the mobile operator and the payment apps on the phone to block access.
4. Write to [email protected] with the date and a description, so we can note the incident on the account.
5. Check the account history for transactions you did not make.

Settings that protect the handset

Three settings on the phone itself do most of the protective work.

Screen lock and updates

Enable automatic screen lock after a short period, so that an unattended phone cannot be used. Keep the operating system and the browser on current versions.

Device finder and notifications

Enable the device finder offered by the phone maker, which can locate or erase a lost handset. Restrict notifications on the lock screen, so that a deposit or a code does not appear to a passer-by. Review which apps may read messages, because a message carrying a confirmation code is a target.

Phone number

If the number changes, update it with the payment apps first. A number that has been reassigned to a new owner can otherwise receive codes meant for you.

Where credentials are at risk

• A public wi-fi network lets others observe traffic. Use mobile data for payments away from home.
• Never enter the Betoro password on a device you do not own.
• A family tablet or other shared device should not hold the account unless each person has a separate login.
• We never ask for a password, a card number or a full identity document number in a message or by telephone, so delete any text or email that does.

Limits and images sent from the phone

A phone is always within reach, and play can happen at any hour. A deposit limit set before the first payment keeps spending within budget even when attention drifts, and it belongs to the account, so it applies on every device. When we request identity documents, the images are often taken with the phone. The photos should show the whole document in good light. Delete them from the gallery after sending, because an image of an identity card is a risk if the device is later lost.
